What a fantastic book! Harold Peabody is a kind hearted, caring near sighted boy that unexpectedly has to start a new life halfway across the country with his mother. His mom loves him dearly and tries hard to ease the transition as much as possible.. Harold is very nervous about attending his new school but without trying he makes some new friends as well as attracts a few bullies his way. He tries to avoid the bullies but, he soon becomes their main focus. During a confrontation something happens to Harold's glasses and now his mom has to buy him another pair. To Harold surprise he finds out soon enough that his new glasses are special. Feeling confident with his unique glasses Harold wants to take care of those bullies and plans to do it at any cost. Throughout the story there are many emotions that keep the reader interested on what happens next. It teaches a great lesson on how the choices made in life can either create a good outcome or bad outcome depending on the decisions made. It shows true friendships and the bond between a mother and son. With many detail to allow a visualization of every character and scenario in the story. This book is one that is highly recommended.
